Aikido is for pussies. Go Bujinkan.

Why?

"A large variety of weapons are taught, including swords such as daitō, wakizashi and tantō, bamboo shinai, wooden bokken, mogito (a flexible aluminum replica sword that holds no edge), or swords made by soft modern materials are employed for safety such as fukuro shinai, staves of varying lengths (bō, jō), short staves called (hanbō, hanjō), nawa (rope), kusari-fundo (weighted chain), kusarigama (scythe with chain), yari (spear), kamayari (spear with curved scythe-like blades crossing the principal head), kagiyari (spear with 2 rearward hooks), bisento (known in Mandarin as 'kwandao'), kyoketsu shoge (similar to a kama except it has a dagger point and a rope of several feet attached to an iron ring), jutte (sword trapping truncheon), tessen (iron fan), naginata (Japanese glaive), kunai (a blunt digging tool), as well various form of shuriken including bo-shuriken and senban shuriken."

Thats right. Mother fucking shuriken.

Xingyiquan.

http://anonym.to/?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xing_yi

Xingyiquan features aggressive shocking attacks and direct footwork. The linear nature of xingyiquan hints at both the military origins and the influence of spear technique alluded to in its mythology. Despite its hard, angular appearance, cultivating "soft" internal strength or qi is essential to achieving power in Xingyiquan.

For a first-time owner, looking for versatility? Leaning towards S&S P229R for more caliber conversion options, not to mention trusted by many armed forces.
I didn't consider Springfield till just today though, and now a little torn TBH. Less caliber options but an XDM can hold 16+1 in .40 and 19+1 in 9mm.

Obviously a tough decision for me, I'll prolly only own one pistol in my lifetime, any help appreciated.

If they were legalised today, would/how long before the things became massively popular again?

>Soviet aid

...

>> No.169291

>>167534
Actually, aid is the correct term and not invasion.

The Soviets signed a formal with the old Afghan government dating back to the 60s. In 1973 there was a Socialist revolution (Saur Revolution). Then the Socialists split with hardline Communists supported by the Afghan Army staging a coup in 1978. Little did they know, as early as 1977 the CIA was funding insurgents to attack them (want proof? read Robert Gates memoirs).

Then comes 1978 and the DRA is hurting... badly. The natives were even more enraged, not just because the revolution, but because the government was becoming secular; women's rights, mandatory school for those under 18, the most extreme religious fag-masters were imprisoned or executed (see: groups that formed the Taliban) etc.
The only area that was completely secure at that time was Kabul.

So what do they do? In 1978 they draft up an amendment to the truce, the ability to request military aide. The Soviets accepted and they requested troops. The Soviets drag their feet, knowing it's a trap... AS WAS REQUESTED BY THE GOVERNMENT, troops were being prepared to be sent in to assist. The requests changed as the plans were drawn, requesting more and more troops and equipment. Eventually, they sent in GRU, KGB and VDV soldiers dressed in Afghan uniforms to secure the presidential palaces and key government installations from attack. Then the troops crossed the borders...

I fail to see, if requested, how it can be considered an invasion. They were sending troops to aide the legitimate government at the time, recognized by the U.N., calling for Soviet troop deployments based upon both a formal and military treaty.

Samefag.

To add one last bit that's considered opinion, the Soviets were liberators. If they had defeated the U.S. backed mujahideen threat, warlords and tribal fag-masters wouldn't have let to the creation of the Taliban. Not to mention the top members of Al-Qaeda who received funding, training or faught in Afghanistan during this time period...

Good foresight, you know?

Also: http://anonym.to/?http://anonym.to/?http://anonym.to/?http://www.ruswar.com/video-5.htm
The video is made of real footage, and is made as public support turned against the war so it's relatively honest in the describing the fierce combat, the IEDs and the brutality.

It is October 1962 during the Cuban Missle Crisis.

McArther succedes in convincing Kenedy to both launch their nuclear weapons in the mid-U.S. towards Cuba, almost annihilating the island. Knowing the Soviets will retaliate with their own nukes, they also launch their weapons located at a secret facility in Turkey, destroying Moscow. ICBMs rain down on Washington D.C., on London, on the capital of NATO allied countries.

This sets in to motion an unprecedented mass mobilization of all Soviet and COMECON allied troops from Bulgaria, East Germany, Yugoslavia, China and North Korea marching towards Western friendly nations.

The U.S., with limited troops stationed in Europe engages all fascist Operation Gladio cells igniting a mass terrorist campaign across all countries combied with launching waves of troops on planes.

Syria, Egypt, Libya and Lebanon march into Israel wanting revenge for their brief war.

South America and Africa become embroiled in civil war as guerilla and paramilitary organizations rise up to assert political dominance over the regions.

Be honest /cb/, who do you believe would have prevailed?

Personally, I would have to lean towards Soviet allied states because both the larger armed forces, not to mention the warriors doctrine completely ingrained in the majority of the related countries at the time.
