This idea had come to me a while back, before I had known that others had thought the same.
A while ago, I started to think of the concept of a parasite; It's generally smaller than its host, benefits at the hosts expense, and often causes death of the host.
Now lets say...Earth is the host,
and humans are the parasites.
When this comparison is made, humans display all the common properties of a parasite;
They absorb materials, organic or otherwise, produced by the host, causing the hosts overall health to be decreased, while at the same time, reproducing, growing more parasites, and repeating the parasitic process over and over--That is, until the host dies, and the parasite is unable to find another host or is unable to support itself and dies too.
Now, it appears the humans, the 'parasites', have realized, "O shit, we're killing the earth! We better do something about it, or we can try to find another planet we can kill...but before we do that lets kill each other"
So anyway, if humans are really just useless parasites that kill each other and bring death and sorrow to what would otherwise be a peaceful and self supportive place (like a nature without human interference), then wouldn't that make human lives worth nothing. Wouldn't that make every genocide, murder, war, cancerous death, or any other human death irrelevant to the overall existence of the universe. I mean, it's inevitable, humans are going to die out anyway, right?
I can understand the portion about trying to awaken one from their ignorance on any subject concerning religion, or lack there of. But is it truly an attempt to better you or is it for them to make their life easier by providing themselves an environment in which orthodoxy would allow them confidence in belief?
That question kind of bothers me, is it just a lack of faith in ones belief system that leads to an individual attempting to convert? For that matter, is an atheist just as unsure about their beliefs as a theist? Please don't just say no to that, because isn't it human nature to doubt? Explain please.
I am extremely undecided on what I believe, so I'm just out fishing for other people's ideas. As of right now I am deist... But just as I had said, since it is human nature to doubt, I am.
There's no god, no angels, no demons. There's no mystical force that pays back evil doers. Karma is a sanskrit word that basically means cause and effect. Souls don't exist. When we die, we dissipate. There's no heaven, no hell, no reincarnation. We rot and then we're eaten by bugs. Am I forgetting anything?
pic not the least bit fucking related. (but the Thunderbolts are cool)
