It has come to my attention that the people here are divided regarding the issue of whether we should have a government and charge taxes or not.I for one believe we SHOULD NOT HAVE TAXES.Taxes and government only lead to corruption and inefficient bureaucracies spending your money on shit nobody cares about.(cough*libraries*cough) It seems to me that people have been raised with the idea that we NEED a government which couldn't be farther from the truth.Instead of having public schools and medicine, we could have private schools and medicine and instead of an army, we could make a militia by arming the people. Then the citizens would be able to defend themselves and have the power to do as they choose.Lets get rid of corruption and politicians once and for all and prove to the world that they're a bunch of suckers for falling into the system. Besides, if we want to have the upper hand we have to offer something new. If people don't like it, they can move to Europe, where people are more than willing to subsidize mediocrity.Besides having a fag-master would go against what anonymous stands for. tl;dr: Fuck the government

Has /sov/ reached end game? The Board has almost come to a stand still. We lack funding, a location, the numbers, and the resources necessary to start /sov/.It was an awesome fun idea at the beginning, but we have now run into so many holes the plan looks like we won't ever be able to do this?Is this the end of /sov/? Have we reached the finish line of what /sov/ can accomplish?

>>184268What about an starting up an internet provider system that isn't directly based in any country and therefore not forced to follow their laws. Like some massive, global wifi connection?Maybe everyone who wants to be part of the new fucking internet just connects wirelessly to eachother in an insanely huge wireless LAN, with cables being used when only needed.Or how about doing the same as telephone companies with their cellphone internet? If anon made enough collective internet money to create their own space internet via satellite, then no one could do anything about censoring OUR internet, the peoples internet, anons internet.Basically what I'm fucking saying is that I think we should stick to internet and could kill two birds with one stone by getting rid of internet censorship at the same time. I also don't have a really solid grasp on what I am talking about, so could anyone who has a solid understanding tell me if I'm being completely unrealistic?

>>184268 PROTIP: Anonymous is just a meme.Bonus tip: Old things/how things used to be always beats how things are. Because A - how things used to be covers however long you've been involved, whereas how things are is only a few months/years...it's like old music beating modern music....well ya, there's 50 times as much of it..B - You have forgotten all the dismal failures from years ago, only remembering the memorable.
I had a quick idea about what kind of government we could have. if you guys think its stupid then mods, feel free to delete it.like america it would be a democracy thats run by representatives. Only rather than electing people, there is a random selection done of individuals within the nation. those individuals that are selected every four or so years(idc about the length just an example). If we have a large group of say 400 people running the country, then the random selection will be big enough to rule out the danger or an extremist being elected, being 1 of 400 he cannot make any sort of impact by himself. Also like a simple random sample, as you increase the number of cases(people) selected, you get a more accurate representation of peoples beliefs and backgrounds. The benefit of this kind of system is that there are no politicians that can be corrupt, they dont run campaigns that are supported by corporations. if we decreased the term of which people held there position to say one or two years, we could also stop inside groups from forming and trying to pass there own personal agendas.if you wanted some kind of educational requirements could required to be a possible candidate, but im not sure they would be needed.just a thought that i had a second ago, havent refined it or anything, but does the general idea interest any of you?

>>183995Never, never, never let someone be ultimately in charge. Have you ever paid attention in history class? Most people who get total control never want to give it back.I can see what you're saying though, is to have policy makers that can decide a course of action in a timely effective manner, which is something that most democracies tend to fail greatly at.
Well in america the system was purposely put together to make it difficult to pass legislation. opposing parties, senate and the house, each with there own bill, if someone opposes a bill they can simply stall until it dies. I for one wouldnt want an overbearing government, i want a government that for the most part stays out of our way, and mainly acts as a mediator.anyways as >>183995 said, its going to be a very small group of people, so couldnt we just use a basic direct democracy, this would be a problem if we eventually grew in size, but for a start wouldnt it be best?

hey /sov/ I've though of a great idea to start a NPO and get tax exemption.Lets start our own religion.I think we should base our religion on chaos and lulz, also Raptor Jesus should also be our savior and longcat would our god
we shouldnt have a joint back account or anything, the whole point of the church of the hivemind is to assert controll over other people, and to get the legal right to fuck with other people for lulz, and if we get fired from jobs or anything we can say RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION
This may have worked in Australia if it wasn't for "ANONYMOUS HAS DECLARED WAR ON AUSTRALIA FOR CENSORSHIPS". So now, the religion would have to distance itself from Anonymous. People in the Australian government know what /i/ has done. Issues would arise. That's one of our biggest problems. In fact, so many issues would arise with something like this. Does anyone here have the persistence and expertise, and organizational skills, to manage an entire religion of people who are chaotic neutral? That's another one of our biggest problems - who the hell would want to organize all this? And finally - Dox leaking. If anyone leaked dox of the religion being linged to Anonymous ($cilons have lurked the chans before) the whole thing could go to hell. That's also a pretty big problem. As far as doing it to fund /sov/ - Really, I don't think it's that good of an idea. There's so many issues that could arise that I haven't described here, such as actual protestors from bigger groups like the catholics and concerned citizens, and the fact that nearly 90% of the religion would be male potheads AND MORE - this idea is just too problematic. tl;dr. lick ling to view the boring shit.

So /sov/, I was wondering, and this isn't integral to the formation of our nation, I'm just curious, what kind of terminology will we use?Example: Citizen = ? What will we call citizens? Or legislators (in the unlikely event we have them) etc."I'm running for state Fag next year.""That's it? Fag? Fuck, I'm going for Final Boss."

There would not be any kind of governmental tax because there is no government!

hey /sov/i was just thinking about how the natural resources of the earth are all prolly gonna be tapped in 40 years by the global superpowers so the question may become: can /sov/ create a civilization of the future? One that knows how to live off the land? Just how long can such a huge population (of mostly idiots) in the United states sustain itself if there suddenly isn't enough power anymore or clean water. that's why a project like /sov/ may has a lot of importance in today's society ...

My bad, civil war was wrong, and yes, it's preferable. However, there's been an assassination of a Minister recently, and there has been a fair amount of unrest. It's also sinking deeper into a drought crisis, and being in Africa, crime and gang violence is a big thing. I'm a SouthAfricafag, so we hear more about it than most internationtal communities.Oh a side note, it does sure as hell beat DRC, Sudan and Nigeria.

>>183554 I haven't heard anything about any assasinations, perhaps I should get some local contacts...
If we want to bring in money to this project we're going to need a contract to ensure the money goes to the project and not to somebody's pocket. So um does anybody know how to make a contract?
>>183374 I've mentioned before the UK company type known as 'limited by guarantee' would work well for this, the articles can double as a contract & constitution. There are probably other systems too (Ireland has the same company thing if anyone particularly doesn't want the company british).Personally I'd rather keep lawyers out of this.

The only water shallow enough for that to work is on a coastline, already owned by a nation.
